December 7, 2005 RCAF Flyers Olympic team honoured by Hockey Canada for their outstanding achievement .......
December 7, 2005: 8 WING TRENTON In an official ceremony prior to the annual NCOs' and Officers' hockey game, five original members of the
1948 RCAF Flyers team and family members representing deceased players, watched as a banner was raised over the ice at an arena named in their
honour.

The Arena features a 200 feet by 85 feet (NHL regulation size) ice surface, seating for 300 spectators and 6 oversized dressing room with a
heated floor system. Also housed within the Arena is a Lobby/ Viewing area with Canteen, and a Pro Shop.
Along with community ice times, the R.C.A.F. Flyers Arena hosts a variety of skating programs offered by the Community Recreation Association
including Power Skating, Chidren's & Adult Learn to Skate, and Skills & Drills.

The 1948 R.C.A.F. Flyers were inducted April 12th 2008 at Calgary into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame in conjunction with their 60th anniversary Refs: 11.3, 11.4, 11.5

The Swiss erected a monument in St. Moritz commerating all 1948 Olympic Gold Medal Winners – including
of course the R.C.A.F. Flyer Olympic Hockey Gold Medal Winners.
The names of those who played are listed. Unfortunately the spelling of a good portion of the Canadian hockey players' names is incorrect.
Nevertheless it is a nice monument in a grand setting.
